About
Ela Talvas, daughter of William Talvas, Count of Alencon and Ponthieu, by a duke of Burgundy's daughter, was twice an ancestress of this family: by the Earl of Surrey who died on crusade she was mother of Countess Isabel, and by Patrick, first Earl of Salisbury, she was grandmother of the line that leads to the Longespees. Two beds, two earldoms, one woman - the fifth such double ancestress this tree has found. She died in December 1174.

Added 24 Aug 2026. || ⭐ DOUBLE ANCESTRESS 14 Sep 2026: her SECOND marriage wired - after the 3rd Earl of Surrey died on crusade she married PATRICK 1st EARL OF SALISBURY (F100312), and our line descends from BOTH beds: Warenne (Isabel, F100223) and Salisbury (William FitzPatrick > Ela > Longespee > Audley). Fifth double-bed ancestress found this day.
