Eleanor Giffard was a daughter of John Giffard of Brimpsfield - the baron who abducted and then married Maud de Clifford, as this tree's records tell elsewhere - and she married Fulk, first Baron Strange of Blackmere. Through her the Giffard and Clifford blood, with its road back to Llywelyn the Great, enters the le Strange line.
