Eleanor of Iscoed

~ Eleanor of Iscoed, wife of Tomas ap Llywelyn of Iscoed (I100476) and mother of Elen (I100475), mother of Owain Glyndwr: MedLands, 'ELEN of Iscoed, daughter of THOMAS ap Llywelyn of Iscoed & his wife Eleanor of Iscoed'; the descent rests on Dwnn's 1597 Visitations, so ~. Later Welsh tradition calls her Eleanor Goch and makes her mother Catrin a daughter (or niece) of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales - the link by which Glyndwr was said to descend from the princes of Gwynedd as well as of Powys and Deheubarth. That tradition is NOT wired: no contemporary source supports it and historians treat it as doubtful. Her own parents not wired.
