Eleanor of Provence came to England at about thirteen to marry Henry the Third, brought a great many Savoyard relatives with her, and was cordially disliked for it: Londoners once pelted her barge from a bridge. She was also formidably loyal, raising troops in France to rescue her husband and son during the Barons' War.
