✓ DOCUMENTED (CP; web-confirmed 25 Jul 2026): ELEANOR PERCY, 2nd daughter of HENRY PERCY, 2ND BARON PERCY, of Alnwick; wife of John, Lord FitzWalter; mother of Alice (our line). *** THE PERCY GATEWAY: opens the great northern house of PERCY (later Earls of Northumberland) - her father wired (I99806), the Percy ascent above him note-only/extendable. Direct ancestress. Added 25 Jul 2026. ||COKAYNE 'LATIMER' pp.20-27 READ 7 Aug 2026 - A NEGATIVE RESULT WORTH KEEPING|| The tabular pedigree at p.24 opens 'MAUD PERCY = JOHN (NEVILL), LORD NEVILL DE RABY, d.1388'. THAT MAUD IS ELEANOR'S SISTER - both daughters of Henry Percy, 2nd Baron Percy, by Idonea de Clifford. So the whole NEVILL OF RABY house descends from Eleanor's sister, NOT from Eleanor: their son RALPH NEVILL, cr. EARL OF WESTMORLAND 1397, and by his 2nd wife the Lady JOAN BEAUFORT, legitimated daughter of JOHN OF GAUNT, their son SIR GEORGE NEVILL cr. LORD LATIMER 1432 - and thence the Nevill Lords Latimer down to JOHN, 3RD LORD LATIMER (d.1543), WHOSE WIDOW KATHERINE PARR MARRIED HENRY VIII. ⚠ NONE OF THAT IS A DESCENT. The Beaufort/Gaunt blood on this page enters through MAUD's marriage, one generation sideways from our line, so the LATIMER ARTICLE DOES NOT OPEN A PLANTAGENET GATEWAY - it is COLLATERAL KINSHIP ONLY, exactly like the Camoys-Louches route closed earlier. The same 3rd Lord Latimer's 2nd wife was Dorothy, sister and coheir of John, 14TH Earl of Oxford, dau. of Sir George Vere - also collateral, since our de Veres run through the ELEVENTH Earl's line to the 15th, not through the 14th Earl's branch. Recorded so that nobody re-runs this test.
