Gertrude Berkeley

Gertrude Berkeley was the daughter and heiress of Sir Francis Berkeley of Askeaton, a cadet of the Berkeleys of Berkeley Castle, and her mother was a daughter of Adam Loftus, Archbishop of Dublin. She married John Taylor of Ballinort. Her forename then runs through this Limerick and Clare network for a century, surfacing in Taylors, Westropps and Hickmans, which is why any stray Munster Gertrude in an index is worth a second look.
