DEED-DOCUMENTED as father of Elizabeth (m. 1755 John Lane jnr): he paid the GBP3,500 portion at her marriage settlement, 4 Mar 1755, ROD 174/336/116452. Also party to a second marriage settlement 23 Feb 1757 (ROD 185/416/123693 - another child's marriage, lands in Offaly/Galway/Tipperary incl. Moneypark, Butlersland, Rathlevane, Crump Castle). Will proved Prerogative 1770 ('Large will' - Vicars: 'Lowe, Hamilton, Roesgreen, co. Tip., esq.'); Betham abstract to be pulled. m. MARY PENNEFATHER, eldest dau. of Kingsmill Pennefather of New Park, per Burke's LGI 1912 (Pennefather of Rathsallagh) - corroborated by Richard Pennefather of Newpark standing in the 1755 settlement. Of the Tipperary Lowes (Fethard/Brookhill/Knockally in Vicars); Rosegreen was earlier the Roe family's place. CAUTION - AT LEAST THREE HAMILTON LOWES (mapped 14 Jul 2026, do not conflate): (1) HIM - of Roesgreen, Esq, d. c.1770, father of our Elizabeth; (2) a Taylor-line Hamilton Lowe, son of Elizabeth Taylor (sister of Anne Taylor, William of Marlow's wife) by a Lowe husband - 'nephew Hamilton Lowe' in Nathaniel Taylor of Kilkenny's 1773 will (Betham abstract, entry 243); (3) Hamilton Lowe of/near CALLAN, Co. Kilkenny, m. Catherine Nethercoat, daus Mary and Grace - Edward Nethercoat of Callan's will 1765/6 (Betham abstract, entry 216) + ROD 184/555/124262 (a 1747 will recited 1757, Hamilton Lowe Gent of Callan); (2) and (3) may be the same man; the Brookhill Hamilton Lowe who m. Elizabeth Carden (LGI 1912) is one of these or a fourth. The Lowe-Taylor-Pennefather families interlocked repeatedly - which is itself corroboration of the milieu, but demands care. HIS FAMILY NOW DEED-MAPPED (14 Jul 2026, ROD 471/286/299081, settlement 27 Aug 1771): d. before Aug 1771 leaving FIVE DAUGHTERS and no son - Ann (m. 17 Jan 1770 David Lowe of Rocklowe, widowed by Aug 1771), Jane (m. Richard Butler, took name BUTLER LOWE), Mary (m. William Lockwood; prev. widow Willington - cf. the 1757 settlement 123693; her line = the Lockwoods of Castle Lake carrying 'Hamilton Lowe' as forenames), ELIZABETH (m.1 1755 John Lane jnr, m.2 Christopher Hewetson - our line), Frances (m. John Bagwell of Kilmore). Trustees Wm Barton of Fethard + Richard Pennefather of Nenagh. The Betham abstract of his 1770 will is now a nice-to-have (wife's name - Mary Pennefather per Burke's - and any legacy to grandson JHL), no longer load-bearing.
