✓ DOCUMENTED (Entered 23 Jul 2026 under the relaxed rule (standard, undisputed peerage/royal account; provenance so noted).): **HENRY I, KING OF ENGLAND** (r. 1100-1135), 'Beauclerc', youngest son of the Conqueror; Duke of Normandy from 1106 (Tinchebray). Direct ancestor VIA HIS ACKNOWLEDGED NATURAL SON Robert of Gloucester (I99583). NOTE ON HOW TO STATE THIS (ruling 24 Jul 2026): illegitimacy is NOT an evidence flag and must not be recorded as one. Robert's paternity is among the best-attested facts of the 12th century (contemporary witnesses; William of Malmesbury dedicated to him). Illegitimacy in that period was a bar to INHERITANCE, not a doubt about PARENTAGE, and this family claims a descent, not an inheritance. Compare William the Conqueror himself, born illegitimate and called William the Bastard in his own lifetime, whose descendants nobody has ever called doubtful.
