About

Honora Fitzmaurice was a daughter of William, Lord Kerry, and a sister of the first Earl of Kerry, and she married Sir William Piers of Tristernagh. Through her the line reaches the FitzMaurice barons of Kerry and Lixnaw and, behind them, the Geraldines, the O'Briens of Thomond and the Roches of Fermoy. Her mother was Constance Long, a London wineseller's daughter, and it is Constance who explains the odd forename of her granddaughter Constantia.
