✓ Ida Longespee (d. after 10 Apr 1262), younger daughter of that name of William Longespee, Earl of Salisbury (I100799), and Ela, Countess of Salisbury (I100800); m. before 1247 Walter fitz Robert (FitzWalter) of Woodham Walter (d. 1258); RING 15 Oct 2026 into the Longespee family. Distinct from her elder sister Ida (m. Ralph de Somery, then William de Beauchamp of Bedford, living 1260). Source: Book of Lacock (Lacock Abbey chronicle), as quoted in Medieval Lands (fmg.ac, Cawley), 'English Nobility Medieval 1' (Salisbury): daughters of 'Guillelmus Longespe ex...Ela' include 'Idam', who married 'Walterus filius Roberti', by whom she had Katherine and Loretta (nuns at Lacock) and 'Elam, quam duxit primo Guillelmus de Dodingseles'. || Earlier text: Ida Longespee, wife of Walter fitz Robert (FitzWalter) of Little Dunmow (d.1258); mother of Robert, 1st Lord FitzWalter, and of Ela, wife of William de Odingsells. Added 15 Oct 2026 as the wife missing from F99687. Her parentage - said to be a daughter of William Longespee, Earl of Salisbury (I100799), but genealogists disagree over the several Idas of the Longespee family - was NOT wired (superseded 15 Oct 2026 by the Book of Lacock - now wired). Sources: D. Richardson, Royal Ancestry (2013) IV p.271 (as quoted at gdcooke.org); Stirnet 'Odingsells1'; Complete Peerage III (Clinton) and V (FitzWalter) cited for this by a secondary summary - pages not yet seen.
