Isabel de Beaumont was a daughter of Robert de Beaumont, Count of Meulan and first Earl of Leicester, and she married Gilbert de Clare, first Earl of Pembroke. She had earlier been a mistress of Henry the First, which is a fact the Victorians preferred to leave out of the pedigrees.
