Jane Purdon was the eldest daughter of Adam Purdon of Lurgan Race in County Louth, and she married Adam Loftus, Archbishop of Dublin. She bore him sixteen children. One of the daughters married Sir Francis Berkeley of Askeaton and carries this line; another married Sir Henry Colley and is an ancestress of the Duke of Wellington.
