About

John FitzGerald, sixth Earl of Kildare, was a younger son who inherited past his brother's line, holding the earldom de jure in the difficult early fifteenth century and dying about 1434. Through him the direct line of the Kildare ascendancy runs - the quiet earl between the famous ones.
