✓ as a person: John Freke of Garrettstown, co. Cork; m. Mary Bernard; father of Alice, Mary, Margaret, Katherine, Anne (b. c.1655, m. Francis Beamish, then John Smith - our line) and Elizabeth (b. 1659 Bandon, m. 1680 Joseph Jervois of Brade). Burke's Irish Family Records 1976 'Beamish' p.97 (thepeerage.com). PARENTAGE NOTE-ONLY, NOT WIRED: thepeerage (from a 2012 private e-mail, R. Dening) and the Hingston Freke page make him b. 11 Jun 1615 the son of William Freke (I81019) and Anne Swaine - but that would make him the brother of Elizabeth Freke (I81018) and so the uncle of his own wife Mary Bernard, which is not credible; and Stirnet's Freke pedigree (BLG/BEB/Visitation) lists no John among William's Irish children.
