✓ Mary Bernard, wife of John Freke of Garrettstown and mother of Anne (Freke) Smith (BIFR 1976 'Beamish' p.97). PARENTAGE ~ (wired as a ring, with caveat): thepeerage.com, from a 2012 private communication, makes her the da. of Francis Bernard of Castle Mahon (I81016) by Elizabeth Freke (I81018) - i.e. a sister of our Catherine Bernard, wife of Francis Beamish - which fits the chronology (Elizabeth b. 1607; Mary b. c.1635; Anne b. c.1655) and the close Bernard-Beamish-Freke intermarriage, but conflicts with the same source's statement that her husband John was Elizabeth Freke's brother (he would be her uncle). One of the two statements must be wrong; this one is the better supported and is wired at ~.
