Research notes

✓ DOCUMENTED (Cokayne, Complete Peerage 1st edn, FOLIOT article, entry I, supplied by Aynsley 8 Aug 2026): 'JORDAN FOLIOT ... was sum. to Parl. as a Baron [LORD FOLIOT] ... He m. Margaret. He d. 1298-99; his widow d. 1329.' His son Richard (I100366) was 'aged 15 at his father's death'. CP adds that Jordan was PROBABLY s. and h. of Jordan Foliot senior by Beatrice, da. of Hugh Bardolph (niece and coheir of Robert Bardolph of Hoo, co. Kent); that upper rung is CP-hedged 'probably', so it is left NOTE-ONLY, not wired. Added 8 Aug 2026.
