About
Lewis Jones, a Welshman who came to the Irish church, was Dean of Ardagh, Chancellor of St Patrick's, and from 1633 Bishop of Killaloe, and he lived to well past ninety in the most dangerous decades the Church of Ireland ever knew. His son Henry became Bishop of Meath and gave the Book of Kells to Trinity College, where it has been ever since. Two bishops, father and son, stand at the head of this line.
