About
Malcolm I (Máel Coluim mac Domnaill, r.943-954), King of Alba, treated with the English king Edmund I; our ancestor on another road; who granted him Cumbria as ally against the Norse of York, and raided deep into England as far as the Tees. He was killed in 954, fighting the men of Moray by one account. His son Kenneth II continues the line.
