About

Murchad mac Diarmata (died 1070) was King of Dublin and the Isles in his mighty father's lifetime; the first Leinsterman to rule the Norse city directly; and died on a raid into Meath, predeceasing his father by two years. The MacMurroughs (Mac Murchada) take their very surname from him.
