About

Donnchad mac Murchada (killed 1115), King of Leinster and Dublin, fell in battle against the men of Dublin, who buried him with the carcass of a dog; an insult his son Diarmait Mac Murchada never forgave, and one strand of the resentments that ended in the English invasion.
