About

Norman Hugh Damery was born in Cork in 1945 and was, before he was anything else, a drummer: he sat at the kit for the Axels and then for Taste, alongside his great friend the bass player Eric Kitteringham and a young guitarist named Rory Gallagher. He spent the rest of his life watching a band he had been in become a thing that had happened to somebody more famous. He married Julia Mary Elliott in 1971, ran Lancer Boss and then built his own business, Trident Industrial Trucks, and in the early 1990s he began the search that this family's whole modern research grew out of, writing to cousins in Utah and Melbourne with a second-class stamp and filling a garage with boxes. He died in 2023, and the answer he most wanted arrived afterwards.
