About
Patric de Bunbury stands early in the Cheshire rolls with his wife Clemence, bearing the plain silver-and-sable bend of the first Bunbury coat - before the chess-rooks were added that mark the later arms. Ormerod's great county history carries him, compiled from the plea rolls and inquisitions, and the male line runs from him unbroken to the Stanney house.
