About

Ramiro the First built the exquisite little palace-churches on Mount Naranco that still stand above Oviedo. Above him the line climbs through his father Bermudo the Deacon and his grandfather Fruela to Pedro of Cantabria, father of Alfonso I - the last rung the chronicles will bear before the legend of Pelayo.
