Ramon Berenguer II Cap d'Estopes

Ramon Berenguer II 'Cap d'Estopes'; 'Towhead', for his shock of flaxen hair (c.1053-1082), Count of Barcelona; ruled jointly and uneasily with his twin brother and was murdered hunting in the woods near Girona; the deed was laid, then and since, at his twin's door, and the dead count's memory forced the killer's line out of the succession. His infant son Ramon Berenguer III would rule alone. The murdered towhead count is our ancestor.
