About
Ramon Borrell (972-1017), Count of Barcelona, avenged 985 in spectacular fashion: in 1010 he led a Catalan army to the gates of Córdoba itself, intervening in the caliphate's civil war and returning laden with plunder as the great caliphate began its fall. The March had become a power. Our line continues through his son Berenguer Ramon.
