About

Berenguer Ramon I 'the Crooked' (1005-1035), Count of Barcelona, ruled quietly between his father's Córdoba triumphs and his son's imperial ambitions; a peaceable count in an age that remembered its fighters, governing with his formidable grandmother Ermesinde. He divided the counties among his sons; our line runs through Ramon Berenguer I, who reunited them.
