Richard Damery farmed at Kilnameela in the parish of Desertserges, a twin son of Richard and Ann of Ballymodan. He held his land under a lease of 1816 from the Smyths which describes him as already in possession, and he was farming thirty-six acres at the tithe survey of 1829. His wife is unrecorded. He is the patriarch of the Kilnameela family whose children scattered to America in the Famine years, though the placing of the next generation beneath him is a judgement from the naming pattern and the tenancy rather than a documented fact, and is recorded here as probable.

THE KILNAMEELA PATRIARCH, twin son of Richard & Ann of Ballymodan. Farmer of Kilnameela, Desertserges: lease of 10 Feb 1816 from the Smyths (Registry of Deeds memorial 502236, Vol 737/102), described as "then in possession" - tenure pre-dates 1816; 36 acres at the 1829 tithe. Wife unrecorded (naming grid predicts an URSULA). James (~1797) and our whole line placed under him Jul 2026 - PROBABLE, not documented; see James's note. [DIRECT ANCESTOR OF THE COMPILER: flag added 24 Jul 2026 by walking the tree from Aynsley, so that this marker is reliable and can be searched.]

Death: Buried Desertserges 27 May 1845, "aged 78".
