About

Robert FitzHamon was the Norman conqueror of Glamorgan, lord of Gloucester, a chief supporter of William Rufus and Henry the First; he died of a wound to the head that left him witless, and his lands went with his daughter to the King's own son. His father Hamon Dentatus, killed at Val-ès-Dunes, now stands above him.
