SIR JOHN CAMOYS of Gressenhall; m. Elizabeth le Latimer; father of Thomas 1st Baron Camoys (I99591, our line). ⚠⚠ 'ELIZABETH LE LATIMER' IS WRONG AND HAS BEEN STRUCK, 7 Aug 2026. Cokayne, CAMOYS p.126, names Thomas's mother outright: 'THOMAS DE CAMOYS, s. and h. of John de Camoys, by MARGARET, da. of RICHARD FOLIOT and coheir to her br. another Richard F.' So John's wife - and the mother of our line - was MARGARET FOLIOT (now @I100365@), not a Latimer. The Elizabeth le Latimer reading came into this file unsourced with Sir John's own entry, was briefly given a record earlier on 7 Aug 2026 on the strength of that note alone, and was struck the same day when the CAMOYS article was read. RECORDED SO IT IS NOT RE-IMPORTED. A cautionary sequence worth keeping: a name sitting unsourced in a note for weeks was wired as fact and disproved within the hour by the printed article. CP also hedges the rung BELOW this one: 'which John was undoubtedly s. of Ralph de Camoys, PROBABLY the above-named Ralph, LORD CAMOYS, 1313-35' - so John's own paternity from our Ralph (I100073) is CP's own 'probably', not a certainty, and is left wired at that strength.
