About
Elizabeth le Despenser, daughter of the Earl of Winchester by Isabel de Beauchamp, was the second wife of Ralph, Lord Camoys - a rung this project once nearly cut, until the two-marriages tangle was unpicked and she was confirmed the ancestress. Her brother was the hanged favourite of Edward II; her own quiet marriage carried the Despenser and Beauchamp blood here by a road the gallows never touched.
