About
Sir William Piers, second baronet of Tristernagh Abbey, married Honora Fitzmaurice before 1678 and succeeded his father in 1691. Their eldest daughter Constantia married the Reverend Vere Hunt of Curragh in 1712, which is the junction that carries the Piers, Kerry and Geraldine inheritances into the Irish line of this family.

Westmeath; 1st son of Sir Henry Piers 1st Bt; b. about 1653; suc. 19 Sep 1691; "m. in or before 1678, HONORA, SISTER OF THOMAS, 1ST EARL OF KERRY, da. of William (Fitzmaurice), Lord Kerry, by CONSTANCE, da. of WILLIAM LONG, of London" (Cokayne); d. 2 Jun 1693 "aged about 40"; his widow d. at Dublin, her will pr. [I.] 1710. Other issue incl. Henry his heir (3rd Bt, b. 1678) and William (m. Elizabeth Croker of Rawleighstown). The De Vere article's "Sir William Piers, Bart." whose dau. Constantia was maternal granddau. of William Fitzmaurice, Lord Kerry = uniquely this man. Constantia herself is not named in either article's issue list - her filiation rests on the De Vere lineage, corroborated by (a) the Kerry-granddaughter detail matching from both directions and (b) ONOMASTICS: her name repeats her grandmother CONSTANCE Long's.
