About

Walter Blount fought for Edward the Fourth at Towton, was Treasurer of Calais and then Lord High Treasurer of England, was created Baron Mountjoy in 1465 and a Knight of the Garter in 1472. His second wife was the dowager Duchess of Buckingham, a granddaughter of John of Gaunt; our line runs by the first.
