About
Sir Thomas Blount was Treasurer of Normandy in the last years of English France, keeper of the paychest of a collapsing conquest; he died in 1456, three years after Castillon ended it all. By his first wife Margaret Gresley he was father of Walter, the first Baron Mountjoy - treasurer father, baron son, the family rising as the empire it served fell.
