✓ William Gabbett, who purchased Caherline (Cahirline) and Rathjordan, co. Limerick, from William Matthews; m. Alicia, da. of Richard England of Lifford, co. Clare; father of John of Rathjordan (I99076, our line, the elder son), William of Caherline b.1658 (ancestor of the later Gabbetts of Caherline, High Park, Castle Lake), and daughters Elizabeth (m. William Chadwick of Ballinard), Alicia (m. Richard Sadleir of Sopwell) and Mary/Margaret (m. John Hamersley). Son of a John Gabbett who 'went to Ireland', said in BLG 1850 to be great-grandson of 'John Gabbett, exon of the Yeoman-guard in 1487' - that earlier John and the English origin are NOT entered (unverified).
