Anne Bagot was the wife of Thomas Lane of Bentley Hall and the mother of Colonel John Lane and of Jane Lane, the King's saviour. She is NOT an ancestor of this family. She was entered as one for a single day and removed when the documents disproved the join. Through her the tree briefly reached the Bagots of Blithfield, the Caves, the Cecils and, beyond them, Domesday.

Anne Bagot, eldest dau. of Walter Bagot of Blithfield, Staffordshire, and sister of Sir Harvey Bagot, 1st Bt; wife of Thomas Lane of Bentley; mother of Col. John Lane, Jane Lane the King's saviour, and William of Shelton (whose identity with the Irish founder is NOW DOUBTED - link detached July 2026, see William Lane I99037).
