About
Constance Goring of Burton in Sussex married Sir John Kingsmill of Sydmonton Court and outlived him by twenty-five years, dying in May 1581 - one of the long Tudor widowhoods in which a woman ran the estate, raised the heirs, and left less record than a season of her husband's accounts. Her son the Sheriff carried the line.
