✓ JOHN GORING, of BURTON, Sussex; father of Constance. ✓✓ SEAT CONFIRMED FROM A PRIMARY SOURCE, 7 Aug 2026: the Hampshire visitation names her father outright as 'JOHN GORING OF BURTON IN COM. SUSSEX', and in the next generation records her daughter 'Ellenor vx. Hen. Goring of Burton in Com. Sussex' - the same house twice over. A HERALDS' VISITATION - primary heraldic evidence, taken from the family at the time, and a materially better authority than any nineteenth-century printed pedigree. ⚠ SEAT CORRECTED 7 Aug 2026 from BARTON to BURTON: the Burke's LGI text prints 'Barton', but Stirnet gives 'John Goring of Burton', and the same Burke's article elsewhere names 'Sir Henry Goring OF BURTON' as the cousin a Kingsmill granddaughter married - so 'Barton' is a misprint or a mis-set type for Burton Park, near Petworth.
