About

Henry the First of France reigned for nearly thirty years over a kingdom that was, at the time, not much larger than the country around Paris. He is chiefly remembered here for the marriage he made: he sent to Kiev for a bride and got Anne, daughter of Yaroslav the Wise, which is how the princes of the Rus enter western Europe and this family.
