About
Mountiford Westropp bought the lands of Attyflin in County Limerick from the Commissioners at Chichester House in June 1703, in the great post-war redistribution of Irish property, and he was a justice of the peace for Clare by 1709. His fourth daughter Jane married a Browne of New Grove, and their daughter Anne married into the Hunts of Curragh.

✓ IDENTIFIED AND DOCUMENTED 21 Jul 2026 (Burke's LGI 'Westropp of Attyflin' pp.757-60): MOUNTIFORD WESTROPP II, of Kilkerin, J.P. for Clare 1709; second (but eldest surviving) son of Mountiford I; "purchased from the Commissioners at Chichester House, 23 June, 1703, the lands of ATTYFLIN, co. Limerick"; m. 1684 ELIZABETH [surname not given in the article] (she d. 1756); will dated 25 Jan 1722, proved 12 May 1726. Children: John of Attyflin (heir, d.s.p. 1781), Elizabeth, Mary (m. 1715 Poole Hickman of Kilmore), Frances (m. W. Lavitt of Cork), JANE (m. 1726 Browne of Newgrove - our line), Gertrude (m. 1728 Luke Hickman of Fenloe), Anne, Susannah (m. 1738 John Longfield of Longueville).
