About
Vere Hunt of Curragh made his will in February 1783 and it was proved four years later. He married twice: first a Miss Chadwick, who left no children, and second Anne Browne of New Grove in County Clare. By that second marriage he was the father of Sir Vere Hunt, first baronet, and of Jane, who married John Hamilton Lane of Lanespark and through whom this family's whole medieval and royal descent runs.

V, pp. 414-15, 'HUNT afterwards DE VERE' - photographed by Aynsley): note (a) states the 1st Bt's father and grandfather were both named Vere, "the latter, the Rev. Vere Hunt, of Curragh (who d. in 1759)" - so THIS Vere is ✓ son of Rev. Vere Hunt (× Constantia Piers). Cokayne also gives his WILL: dated 14 Feb 1783, proved [I.] 20 Jun 1787 (whence death range). m. 1st MISS CHADWICK, who d. WITHOUT ISSUE (named in Burke's Peerage DE VERE article p.296, added 21 Jul 2026); m. 2ndly, 29 MAY 1760, ANNE BROWNE, 2nd dau. of Edmond Browne of New Grove, co. Clare, by Jane, dau. of Mountiford Westropp - Anne = mother of ALL his children: two sons and a dau. per the De Vere lineage - Sir Vere 1st Bt ("b. probably in or soon after 1761"), JOHN-FITZMAURICE HUNT (m. 1st Jane, 3rd dau. of William Henn of Paradise, co. Clare; 2ndly Frances, dau. of Col. Evans - the forename advertising the Piers/Fitzmaurice descent), and JANE (our line - the De Vere article itself: "Jane, m. to John-Hamilton Lane, Esq. of Lanespark, co. Tipperary, and had issue").
