'John Lane, eldest son and heir' of John Lane of Lanespark - both living 19 Jan 1754, when the Rathjordan recovery-settlement raised GBP2000 for his father's life and GBP100 p.a. for him (Registry of Deeds 166/321/111715). Probably also the 'John Lane of Ballynonty, jnr' who witnessed his sister Ellinor's 1749 marriage articles (ROD 148/79/98507) - Ballynonty is the Lanespark townland cluster; identification ~. FATHER of John Hamilton Lane (b. c.1755-6) - JHL's FAMC moved to this man's family F99042 on 14 Jul 2026 with Aynsley's approval, the 1755 settlement + 1758 admon + Hamilton/Lowe onomastics having settled it (see I99010). Grade: marriage and death deed/record-documented; the JHL filiation rests on the convergence (no baptism survives) and Murray Lane's explicit statement. Added 13 Jul 2026; resolved 14 Jul 2026. HAMILTON TEST RUN 13 Jul 2026 (Cashel & Emly bond index, Lane pages, image read): NO John Lane x Hamilton - but the index has 'John Lane and Elizabeth LOWE, 1755' - the right man at exactly the right date. Elizabeth Lowe is now the leading candidate for his wife and JHL's mother (JHL b. c.1755-56); the 'Hamilton' name remains unexplained (check the PREROGATIVE bond index for a John Lane x Hamilton, and the Lowe family for a Hamilton mother). Same index page confirms his sister's match: 'Mathew and Elinor Lane, 1749' - agreeing with ROD 98507 (articles 17 Jun 1749), so the series is sound for the decade and the negative on Hamilton means something. Tipperary, Gent, 1758, I, 110:113'): 'Lane, John, ROESGREEN [Rosegreen, by Cashel], Co. Tipperary, Gent - to Eliz'th L., the Wid. Admon granted 23 Jan'ry 1758.' Died INTESTATE by 23 Jan 1758, widow ELIZABETH - consistent with the 1755 Elizabeth Lowe marriage and with JHL (b. c.1755-6) being left an infant heir; explains why Murray Lane's interposed John is so shadowy (he held briefly or predeceased his father - Col. John still appears at Lanespark 30 Sep 1757, ROD 189/418/126021). ROSEGREEN THREAD TIED same night (Vicars, Lowe entries): 'Lowe, HAMILTON, Roesgreen, co. Tip., esq., 1770 (Large will)' - the Lowes WERE of Rosegreen, and their head was named HAMILTON LOWE. So: John jnr m. 1755 Elizabeth Lowe of the Roesgreen Lowes, lived at her family's place, d. there Jan 1758; son JOHN HAMILTON Lane named for her father/kinsman Hamilton Lowe - the Hamilton name (JHL, Anne Hamilton Lane, JHL II) is EXPLAINED, entering via the Lowes (who presumably had it from an earlier Lowe x Hamilton match). Tipperary Lowe cluster in Vicars: David of Fethard 1730 (Large will), Robt Low of Brookhill 1742, David of Brookhill 1767, Robert Low of Fethard 1778, Robert of Knockally 1684 - Rosegreen sits amid Fethard/Knockally. Identification of the 1758 admon now STRONG (~ raised: name + county + widow Elizabeth + date + residence all interlock). DECISIVE NEXT TEST: Betham's genealogical abstract of HAMILTON LOWE's 1770 Prerogative will (FindMyPast, Betham abstracts, as for the 1672 Lane will) - a Large will abstract should name his children (Elizabeth, m. Lane?) and possibly grandson John Hamilton Lane. Also: ROD index project, family=Lowe forename=Hamilton (his deeds; the 1755 Lane-Lowe marriage settlement would carry him as a party); Col. John's own death still wanted (Prerog will/admon indexes, Lane of Lanespark, c.1758-70s).

Marriage: DEED-DOCUMENTED (14 Jul 2026): marriage settlement dated 4 Mar 1755, reg. 10 Mar 1755 - Registry of Deeds 174/336/116452 (image: Vol 174 image 500, FamilySearch). Hamilton Lowe of Roesgreen Esq paid GBP3,500 on the marriage of Elizabeth Lowe, 'eldest dau of A, spinster', to 'John Lane of Lanespark, Jnr., son of D [John Lane of Lanespark, Esq]'; C and D settled on trustee Thomas Lane of Fethard: 1,000 acres Lanespark + 1,000 acres bog + 200 acres Rathjordan (the Gabbett lands - the Jan 1754 recovery, ROD 111715, prepared exactly this). Other parties/witnesses: William Lane of Dublin, Attorney (= Cavenagh's 'William of the city of Dublin, a lawyer'); Joseph Bunbury and Joseph Robbins, barristers; RICHARD PENNEFATHER of Newpark Esq (bride's maternal kin per Burke's - Mary Pennefather's family); Robert Bradshaw of Cullen; and CHRISTOPHER HEWETSON of Kilkenny City Esq - the man Elizabeth appears to have married as her 2nd husband after 1758. Cashel & Emly licence bond same year. Their son JOHN HAMILTON LANE (b. c.1755-6) is attached to this family as of 14 Jul 2026 (moved from F99008 with Aynsley's approval - six independent supports vs the 1898 letter's one; see I99010 note).
