Tipperary, in her pre-marriage settlement of 13 May 1727 with John Lane of Lanespark Esq - Registry of Deeds Vol 55 p.219, memorial 36650. Cavenagh's 'Kilreacle' was a misreading of Kilfeacle. NOW DOCUMENTED: pre-marriage settlement dated 13 May 1727, Registry of Deeds Vol 55 p.219, memorial 36650 (reg. 20 Jan 1727/8; index-project abstract obtained 13 Jul 2026): John Lane of Lanespark Esq 'the groom'; Elizabeth Bunbury 'the bride', eldest dau. of Mathew Bunbury of KILLFEAKLE (Kilfeacle - Cavenagh's 'Kilreacle' was a misreading), Co. Tipperary; trustees John Roe of Roesborough and John Minchin of Sahanagorry. Marriage and her parentage upgraded to DOCUMENTED; memorial image: FamilySearch ROD films, Vol 55 image 427. GENERATION DISCREPANCY - EVIDENCE NOW FAVOURS MURRAY LANE: Murray Lane interposes a John Lane ('The eldest son, John Lane of Lane's Park, was father of Colonel John Hamilton Lane') between this couple and John Hamilton Lane; the 1898 John A. Lane letter makes JHL this couple's eldest son directly. ROD memorial 111715 (deed 19 Jan 1754) names 'John Lane, eldest son and heir' of John Lane of Lanespark, both then living - an eldest son JOHN existed, and a family does not keep two living sons of the same name, so JHL (b. c.1755) is very unlikely to be this couple's son. Still flagged ~ pending the Hamilton test (a John Lane x Hamilton marriage, Cashel diocese, c.1750s, would name JHL's mother and prove the interposed generation). Updated 13 Jul 2026. BOND CONFIRMED same day: the Cashel & Emly bond index (Lane pages, image read 13 Jul) carries an interlined entry 'John [Lane] and Elizabeth Bunbury, 1727' - the licence bond matching this settlement. Hamilton test result: no Lane x Hamilton in Cashel & Emly; instead 'John Lane and Elizabeth Lowe, 1755' = marriage of the eldest son John (see I99073). RESOLVED 14 Jul 2026: the 1755 marriage settlement (ROD 174/336/116452) proved the eldest son's marriage in full, and John Hamilton Lane's parentage was MOVED (with Aynsley's approval) from this family to John jnr x Elizabeth Lowe (F99042) - Murray Lane's interposed generation vindicated over the 1898 John A. Lane letter; JHL is this couple's GRANDSON.
