Research notes
Mathew Bunbury, Esq., of Killfeakle (Kilfeacle), Co. Tipperary - father of Elizabeth (m. 1727 John Lane of Lanespark) per her pre-marriage settlement of 13 May 1727, Registry of Deeds 55/219/36650 (P3, with Elizabeth 'eldest dau of D'). The Bunburys of Kilfeacle are ancestors of the Richardson-Bunbury Bts (Burke's Peerage) - further generations recoverable there; a Joseph Bunbury, Counsellor at Law, of Dublin, acted in the Lanes' 1754 settlement (ROD 111715), and Rev. Henry Bunbury witnessed the 1749 articles and leased Burnchurch/Graystown to JHL in 1790 (ROD 278963) - the alliance ran for three generations. Grade: deed-documented as Elizabeth's father. ANCESTRY WIRED 23 Jul 2026 (Burke's Peerage & Baronetage, BUNBURY (Bart. of Stanney) + RICHARDSON-BUNBURY lineages (pp.331-32), photographed & read 23 Jul 2026.): son of BENJAMIN BUNBURY of Killerig (I99613); m. 1st ANNE BLOUNT (I99612, mother of his heir Benjamin & Thomas of Shronell); m. 2nd MARY KELLY of Maryborough (I99611). Burke's places daughters ELIZABETH (our line) and ANNE (m. ROBERT LANE) under the 2nd wife Mary Kelly - so Elizabeth's mother entered as Mary Kelly, BUT the 1727 deed styled Elizabeth 'eldest dau', which could imply the 1st wife Anne Blount: MATERNITY FLAGGED, not certain. Two Bunbury sisters married two Lanespark Lanes (Elizabeth×John, Anne×Robert) - independent corroboration of the whole join. Added 13 Jul 2026; ancestry added 23 Jul 2026.
