About
Jonas Travers Jones held Drombeg in the early nineteenth century and was singled out by Samuel Lewis in his topographical dictionary of 1837 with the two words that were the whole ambition of his class: improving proprietor. He died on Christmas Eve 1839, leaving the estate to a son who was still a child and debts that were older than the heir.
