✓ William Comyn, Justiciar of Scotia, who m. (2) in or before 1210 Marjory, Countess of Buchan, and in her right became Earl of Buchan; founder of Deer Abbey; d. 1233. By his FIRST wife (not named in the Complete Peerage; 'Sarah FitzHugh' in the usual modern accounts - note only) he was father of Richard Comyn (I100867, d.1244), of Walter, Earl of Menteith, and - per the Complete Peerage's reading - of Sir John Comyn of Badenoch; the modern reconstruction (Young, The Comyns) makes John I of Badenoch Richard's son, which this tree follows. Son of Richard Comyn (d. c.1179) and Hextilda of Tynedale (I100868). Inserted 15 Oct 2026, correcting the 9 Oct wiring which had made Hextilda the wife of Richard d.1244.
