About
Sir Humphrey Coningsby of Aldenham, Justice of the King's Bench, was the judge who made his family's fortune and spent it on land, buying Aldenham in Hertfordshire before his death in 1535. He stands in this tree twice over: his son William leads to Bridget Raleigh and the Kingsmills, his daughter Elizabeth down the Berkeley line - aunt and niece, both ancestresses, one household. The earls of Coningsby at Hampton Court descend from another of his lines.
