? Tradition / unproven (dashed on the chart). FOUNDER OF THE JONESES OF BANDON AND DROMBEG; father of Edward Jones of Drombeg (I81045), grandfather of Henry Jones of Drombeg (I81043). SOURCES: Brady, Clerical & Parochial Records (1863): Drombeg 'came to the family in the seventeenth century'; Edward of Drombeg m. a Honner. Cole, Church & Parish Records of Cork, Cloyne & Ross (1903) p.257: Drombeg 'built in the year 1703 by Henry Jones, a descendant of Henry Jones, a major in Cromwell's army, who settled in Bandon' (page images on file; the Townsend Family Records rec. 343 copies Cole). Forename and rank rest on Cole only. No primary record names him. DATES: est. b. ABT 1615 (Cromwellian army in Ireland 1649-53); Edward ABT 1645; Henry ABT 1665. Agreed 12 Oct 2026.
