About

Harding of Bristol (c.1048-c.1125), reeve of the town, was that rarest of things: an Englishman who prospered under the Conqueror. Son of King Edward's officer Eadnoth, he kept wealth and standing in Norman Bristol, and his son Robert bought the barony of Berkeley.
