About
Iago ab Idwal, King of Gwynedd, ruled through the turbulent 1030s and was killed by his own men in 1039 - the fate of more than one king of that restless generation. His grandson Gruffudd ap Cynan, born in Dublin exile, would win the kingdom back and hold it for half a century.
