Margaret de Herle

✓ Margaret, daughter of Sir William Herle, Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and sister of Sir Robert Herle, who died without issue in 1364 leaving the manor of Kirby (Kirby Muxloe), Leicestershire, to 'his sister Margaret's son' Sir Ralph Hastings (I100071) - which is how Kirby came to the Hastings, later 'of Kirby'. Wife of Sir Ralph Hastings of Allerston (I101098, d. 1346). Hodgson, Hist. of Northumberland (1827) p.240 calls her 'Helen' - the Kirby descent and the other accounts give Margaret.
